April 12, 2008 - San Francisco, CA: Mayor Gavin Newsom proclaimed April 11, 2008, Point Break LIVE! Day, in honor of the start of the stage production's two-month San Francisco run.   The producers and cast were presented the proclamation on April 11, 2008, in front of a packed Xenodrome and to a standing ovation by a representative from Mayor Gavin Newsom's office. Producer Eve Hars, and associate producers/directors Thomas Blake and George Spielvogel, were on hand along with performer Ted Harvey, Paul Leafstedt and Chris Bowen to receive the honor.

According to Eve Hars, Producer, “After performing in so many wonderful cities since the play's inception five years ago, this is truly the highest honor we've received.   We're proud to bring Point Break LIVE! to San Francisco.”

Associate Producer, George Spielvogel adds, “the Proclamation could be the first step towards Point Break LIVE! replacing Rice-a-Roni as the newest San Francisco treat.”

Point Break Live! is the smash hit, full-immersion, absurdist stage adaptation of the 1992 Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze extreme-sports blockbuster, that tells the story of former College football star, Johnny Utah, in pursuit of the surfing, bank robbing, skydiving, bare-hand-fighting adrenaline-junkie-cum-Zen-master Bodhi Sattva.   Since it's Seattle debut in 2003, “Point Break Live!” has ‘performed to sell-out crowds in Minneapolis, and New York City, and it continues strong after six-months in Los Angeles to rave reviews, with all shows sold out two weeks in advance.

The starring role of Johnny Utah, who is selected from the audience each night, reads their entire script off cue cards in order to capture the rawness of a Keanu Reeves performance.   “Point Break LIVE!” features armed robbery, big-wave surfing, car chases, explosions, no less than two extended skydiving sequences and an indoor monsoon.   The audience doesn't just watch Point Break LIVE!; they are in it.  “Survival Kits™", consisting of a plastic emergency poncho to protect the viewers from the action that literally spills forth from the stage, are issued before the start of the show, so it's suggested everyone leave their fineries at home.   The stage action, which literally spills into the street, is videoed and played through a real-time live feed on TV monitors set to the side of the stage via the "Keanu Kam™."

“Point Break Live!” begins its two month San Francisco un from Friday, April 11, 2008 to June 21, 2008. There's one performance at 9 pm on Fridays with two performances on Saturdays at 7:30 pm and 10 p.m. Check it out at Xenodrome, 1320 Potrero Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94110.   Tickets are available at only $25.00 each at or by calling 1-866-811-4111.   If not sold out - and so far PBL! has sold out every night in San Francisco, so order tickets in advance - tickets are also available at the door at $25.00.   For more info, cast photos, and video, please visit
