September 5, 2008 – Hollywood, CA: Kirsten Dunst and her beau, Apple Computer pitchman and actor, Justin Long, recently attended a performance of Point Break LIVE! at the Dragonfly in Hollywood, and partied with the cast for over an hour.   What's Point Break LIVE!, you ask?   “Point Break LIVE!” is the absurdist stage adaptation of the 1992 Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze extreme-sports blockbuster that tells the story of former College football star, Johnny Utah, in pursuit of the surfing, bank robbing, skydiving, bare-hand-fighting adrenaline-junkie-cum-Zen-master Bodhi Sattva.   Since it's Seattle debut in 2003, Point Break LIVE! has ‘rawked' sell-out crowds in Seattle, Minneapolis, New York City, and San Francisco, the latter of which received a City Proclamation from Mayor Gavin Newsom in April 2008 and continues strong to this day.

After nearly a year-long run in the City of Angels, LA's “Point Break LIVE!” production is packing up and heading to the V Theater, at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, beginning October 1, 2008, with four shows weekly, Wednesday through Saturday, at 10:00 p.m.

The last Point Break LIVE! performance in Los Angeles takes place Saturday, September 13, 2008.

Why is Point Break LIVE! such a magnet for stellar acting talent as Kirsten Dunst and Justin Long?   “It's simple,” says producer Eve Hars, “The starring role of Johnny Utah is selected from the audience each night, after a grueling live audition process, and reads their entire script off cue cards.   This method manages to capture the rawness of a Keanu Reeves performance, even from those who generally think themselves incapable of acting.”

Eve continues, “We're confident that many fine leading actors and actresses vie for the coveted Point Break LIVE! Keanu role in an effort to continually hone they're acting-via-cue-card-reading-skills in front of a live audience.   Mastering such a unique technique is a great asset should they ever get the opportunity to appear in infomercials, telethons, or campaign conventions.   While not every pampered, bajillion-dollar-paycheck-per-movie celebrity gets a crack at the coveted Point Break LIVE! leading Keanu role - after all, the audience selects the best Keanu candidate via Applause-o-Meter™ - we will still let Hollywood's elite thespians audition for the part once we get to Las Vegas.”

And don't think that just because Point Break LIVE! has made it to the Las Vegas Strip that it's becoming another glitzy spectacle with amazing special effects.   Point Break LIVE!'s producers are committed to keeping the ridiculously lo-budget, lo-fi aesthetic of cardboard waves and inflatable plastic palm trees that makes the show that much more hilarious… and it's not just because they don't have any money.

Will you have fun?   We can slap ourselves on the back all day long till we dislocate our shoulders, but we'd rather let a batch of credible ‘Jimmy Olsens' put in some rawkin' knarly props about “Point Break LIVE!”   Click on the links below to read complete reviews.
