June 11, 2010– San Francisco, CAThe New Up, voted a Best Bay Area Breakout Band of 2009 on MTV2/Ourstage, proudly announces the release of their new award-winning video single, Bitch, from their CD Better Off, to all video music media outlets nationwide.  Better Off continues to chart and garner strong airplay across the United States and Canada since it was released in 2009.  The prolific and nationally recognized The New Up releases Bitch as they complete their third studio effort, entitled Gold, which fulfills a trilogy of EPs that shows off the band's sultry, tempestuous sound.  Gold is scheduled for a September 2010 release, and the band will launch their fourth US tour in October 2010.

Bitch, produced and directed by Hassan Said Films, was a 2010 AVA award-winner for Achievement in Cinematography. Hassan Said, a gifted young producer/director who cut his teeth in the corporate world working with NBA, Sprint, Haagen Dazs, Adobe, Yahoo and Chevrolet, had sought out The New Up after seeing, and becoming a fan of, the band’s heavy rotation MTV interviews and performance clips and – ultimately - their previous video Arkansas, produced by Pile Driver Media of Danzig and White Zombie fame.  With cinematography by Peggy Peralta and editing by Albert Lopez, The New Up’s Bitch video was shot, produced and completed entirely in San Francisco.

The New Up’s two studio EPs, Better Off (2009) and Broken Machine (2008), the latter of which debuted and spent several weeks on the CMJ Top 200, and debut full-length studio effort Palace of Industrial Hope (2007) were all mixed and engineered by Jaimeson Durr, whose work with The Killers, Cake, Franz Ferdinand, and Handsome Boy Modeling School, has made him one of the most in demand "audio alchemists" on the West Coast.

With the release of their fourth studio effort, Gold, The New Up, who, according to Jennifer Gibson of Flagpole Magazine, “shattered my placid veneer with some of the most striking, exotic and brashly coherent indie-ish pop that’s ever graced my ears,” will embark on their fourth national tour in October 2010.

BigDiction.net states, “The New Up never fails to create catchy pop melodies that are just begging to be sung along with…” And sing along you can, because in August of 2010, The New Up's entire critically-acclaimed catalogue will be made available through all US music retail locations and worldwide digital music retailers through IRIS Digital Distribution.

The New Up, who Dennis Cook, (Pitchfork, Signal to Noise, and JamBase), deemed "a post-Radiohead group, full of mutated pop hooks, absinthe guitars, smartly wrangled chaos and undisguised beauty and feeling,” and Chris Maroulakos of NBCSanDiego.com praised as “dark, dreamy rock with gorgeous female vocals,” consists of ES Pitcher (vocals, guitar), Noah Reid (guitar, vocals), Hawk West (flute and automation), Dain Dizazzo (bass), and Drew Bertrand (drums).
