limited number of one-of-a-kind, numbered and framed concert poster prints of legendary guitarist Derek Trucks, beginning March 15, 2006, at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST, with proceeds going to Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research. The framed Derek Trucks concert poster prints will be autographed by Derek Trucks and the poster's creator, world-renowned album cover artist, Ioannis. The Derek Trucks poster commemorates his November 25, 2005 performance at the Premier Music Hall in Danbury, Connecticut.
Revered by his fans and musicians, Derek Trucks is a gifted 26-year old guitarist who has been touring since before he was a teenager. Derek, nephew of Allman Brothers co-founder and drummer Butch Trucks, has three solo albums to his credit, is the leader of The Derek Trucks Band and a member of the legendary Allman Brothers Band, and he has performed with renowned groups such as Government Mule and Phil Lesh and Friends. On February 24, 2006, Eric Clapton formally announced that he has invited Derek to play guitar in his band on his upcoming European tour starting in May 2006.
Ioannis, a professional album and poster artist since 1983, has designed CD covers for a diverse range of international recording artists on Universal, Sony, and Sanctuary Records with artists, including Deep Purple, The Allman Brothers, King Crimson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Blue Oyster Cult. His limited edition signed prints have been made available through various commercial outlets, and were exhibited at VH-1, as well as Ledson Winery's "The Big, Big, Big Show" for the Rock Poster Society of San Francisco.
Ill-Eagle Enterprises, the largest manufacturer of Gold and Platinum Awards for the recording industry, will elegantly matte and frame each Derek Trucks poster print and other limited edition concert poster artwork that will be auctioned off on eBay in the future.
Columbia/Sony music industry executive Tony Martell, who was instrumental in the signing of Ozzy Osbourne and Stevie Ray Vaughn, among others, founded The T. J. Martell foundation in 1975, in memory of his son, T.J., a victim of leukemia. The T. J Martell Foundation has since raised more than $200 million over 30-years to combat the world's three most deadliest diseases. The T.J. Martell Foundation remains dedicated to raising funds for the innovative initial and ongoing research into the treatments and cures of leukemia, cancer, and AIDS at the leading eight research facilities throughout the United States.
All proceeds from the commemorative Derek Trucks and future Collectible Concert Print eBay Auctions will benefit the life saving research conducted at The Mayo Clinic, and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering and Columbia Presbyterian Cancer Centers and others. The T. J. Martell Foundation has auctioned off many celebrity experiences for charity on eBay such as a Day In The Studio With Metallica, front row Bon Jovi concert tickets, tickets and stage access for the 2004 and 2005 Vans Warped Tour, autographed instruments, as well as other experiences with top bands and recording artists. Recently the T.J. Martell Foundation was the sole recipient of all proceeds from the sale of the NBC The Today Show Cookbook, entitled Today's Kitchen.
